The Crisis: Garbage Trucks are Displayed on Main St! View from North Main St. in
Pennington, NJ December 2007. Garbage trucks still remain
visible on Main Street today.
Welcome
to penningtoncrisis.org. I made this website to raise awareness of the
unacceptable visual conditions at Pennington, New Jersey's municipal
maintenance facility which is located on Main Street. The maintenance
facility is used for garbage truck storage, yet the Borough has done
minimal landscape screening, exposing Main St. to a community-wrecking
visual display. Despite requests to obscure the garbage trucks,
Pennington's borough council does not seem to believe a problem exists.
Fixing the problem is a simple matter that is not expensive.
The borough simply nees to plant about 20 fast growing evergreen trees
(Leyland Cypress, Giant Green Arbivitae, etc.) and within a few years
the garbage trucks will no longer be visible. Currently an insufficient
number of slow-growing spruce trees have been planted with large gaps
between. With the current situation, Pennington will have a view of
Garbage trucks for decades.
